What is Coaching

Hi, my name is Kristina Sullins and I have been a coach with Beachbody for 10 years now.

When I started I had no clue that I would be here 10 years later, let alone created the lifestyle that Beachbody has allowed me to build. This is my story from the past decade, how I started, got where I am today and how you can join me in this crazy, awesome life!

When I found Beachbody, I was working in corporate America working 60 hours a week, working my way up the ladder for the past 13 years. I was also teaching fitness classes and have been now for almost 20 years. I got involved when I was really young, I loved to dance when I was a kid and I fell in love with the music, movement and fun that teaching fitness gave me. I wanted that 1 hour to be my entire life. That was the dream anyway.

As I worked my way up the corporate ladder I thought that it was what I wanted, but the further I got in the corporate world the further away from fitness I became. I started to gain stress weight, I was drinking a ton of coffee, I was unhappy, eating out a lot, binging on sugar and salts. I felt horrible.

When you teach fitness classes a lot of people think that you don’t have to worry about your weight or what you eat. That couldn’t have been further from the truth for me. Your body gets use to the workouts. I was teaching to motivate others and I loved that personal fulfillment, but it wasn’t what my body needed to personally grow. I struggled with IBS and have since I was 16, I was always bloated, I became weight loss resistant. No matter how much I worked out or what I ate I couldn’t loose weight, unless I starved myself and then I would get horrible migraines.

So at this time you can definitely say I was miserable and worn out. That’s when a friend asked me if I had heard of the Beachbody coaching business. I hadn’t heard anything of Beachbody except for P90X and Hip Hop Abs, those were the popular programs at the time and everyone knew who Shaun T was. So I went to an opportunity meeting to learn more and I was totally inspired by the transformations stories from the at home workout programs. There I was at the gym all the time, my friends were personal trainers, I was an instructor and no matter what I ate my weight stayed the same and it was really frustrating.

So I was really inspired and I thought if I could just lose this 10 pounds that would be great! But not only did I fall in love with the products, I fell in love with the business model. The idea that it’s your own fitness business, that you’re really just helping people get started on a fitness program that’s already laid out for you and them was so simple. I just had to plug people into a workout program, nutrition plan, and support system that was already laid out. I could totally do that and that’s exactly what I decided to do. So I became a coach in 2008. I signed up with my best friend Shawna and one other person, so I got a few people involved right away.

The first year of my business I was kind of one foot in, I was still working a ton of hours at my corporate job. I was working my coaching business but I just hadn’t gone all in yet. And I’m that person that’s either all in all out, there’s no middle ground with me. The following year, the day before Thanksgiving I lost my job, the career I had put my heart and soul into and built for the past 13 years. This was totally out of the blue, I was blindsided and completely devastated. I remember going home and just crying my eyes out not know what I was going to do. I was going to have to start all over in my career, work my way from the bottom up, again. I was heartbroken and lost.

When the crying fog had finally cleared I began to think about my coaching business and what I could do with it. So I just made a decision, a really scary one. I decided to go all in. I begged my husband to give me 90 days and if I couldn’t make it happen then I would go back to work and I would work my butt off at whatever I did.

So there I was, all in as a Beachbody coach giving myself 90 days to see if this thing could work. I started P90X and Shakeology and it was the first program that I actually did from day 1 to day 90. I lost 10 pounds and I was like Ahhhhh it works! It was a workout that my body really needed. I was a cardio junkie and my body needed the weights, nutrition and supplements. Shakeology helped me with my digestion, my bloating; it busted all my sugar cravings. To say the least, it was pretty life changing. Next, I did Turbo Fire with Shakeology and lost another 10 pounds. That was 20 pounds I had lost with the programs and I was just blown away because the last time I had lost that type of weight was 7 years before that. And that was for my wedding when I worked out with a personal trainer, was hungry, had migraines and was crabby. All for the wedding dress. I was so excited!

In January of 2010 I was on unemployment checks from my previous employer and by the end of that year I had matched my salary from my corporate job. I was floored, I just couldn’t believe it. One year later in 2011 our Beachbody business cleared a 6-figure income. I say “our” because my husband and I worked the business as two accounts together. So now we are talking I had over doubled what I had ever made in corporate America. I never thought it was even possible! And honestly all I was doing was using the products, getting results, sharing on social media, talking to my friends and everyone I knew. And I was having fun, just having a flipping blast.

Fast-forward 2 years later, I got pregnant with my first daughter, Brooklyn. I gained 50 pounds and went through post partum depression. It was the year that I worked my business the least because of becoming a new mom and my business hit the Million Club with Beachbody!! Million Club is a cumulative of all of your earnings from day 1 of starting your business. I didn’t even know! My husband said to me do you realize that Christine, who was my coach, just posted on social media that you hit the million club. I was like Wait, What?! You guys, I’m from a really small town, I met my husband on the school bus, our town had a Kmart and a Burger King, that’s it. I’m as down to earth and humble as it comes and I pride myself on that. My jaw was on the floor, it was just amazing. A true blessing!

After, my second daughter Skylar was born I had yet another 50 pounds to lose. So when I was ready to really get back to it I was able to plug right into the 21 day fix and Shakeology. I dropped the weight and I’ve just been going ever since, having a blast and sharing it with others.

What I want people to know is that it was all of my efforts when I started my business, all of my efforts when I decided to go all in with the programs and with the business and I shared this with other people who wanted to do the same things. I have built a huge business, but that is only because I have an amazing team of coaches who are building businesses within my team.

Thanks for reading and hopefully I’ve inspired you that one decision can not only can change your life and your family’s life but it can help many, many more people who follow your footsteps. So I want you to take a moment and think about the opportunity that’s been given to you today, it’s the same opportunity that was given to me. We can all say someday I’ll lose the weight, someday I’ll make fitness a priority in my life, someday I’ll spend more time with the people that are most important to me, someday I’ll reach every goal and dream that I’ve ever wished for. Guess what…someday is today, I believe you are reading this for a reason, I believe you’re being given the opportunity of a lifetime because I was in your same shoes. Thanks for reading!

Cheers!
